MCP connector

Edwin, inside your assistant

theButler.network speaks MCP. Connect an AI assistant to it and the assistant can search our product catalogue, compare products and look up who sells them — with prices that come from merchant feeds, not from a language model.

What the connector does

It gives an assistant read-only access to our catalogue. Every price it returns comes from an affiliate network feed and carries the timestamp of the import it appeared in. Nothing is written, nothing is bought, and no assistant can change anything here.

The five tools

search_products
Finds purchasable products in a market, with the cheapest current offer and a price range across merchants.
get_offers
Lists every current merchant offer for one product, cheapest first.
compare_products
Puts two to five products side by side with their price range, merchant count and lowest offer.
find_alternatives
Finds comparable products to one you already have — cheaper, similar or better.
recommend_product
Ranks a shortlist or a fresh search and returns the option that fits the stated need best.

Three things to ask

  • „Find me an OLED TV under 800 euros and tell me where it is cheapest."
  • „Compare these two coffee machines and say which one you would pick for a small kitchen."
  • „I like this pair of headphones but they are too expensive — what comes close for less?"

Commission does not affect the ranking

We earn a commission when someone buys through one of our links. That commission plays no part in which products are chosen or in what order they appear — the ranking runs on how well a product fits the question, its attributes and the stated budget. There is one ranking path, and it is the same one the website uses.

What we record

Technical metadata about each call: which tool was used, for which market and language, how many results came back, how long it took, and whether it failed. We do not store the text of your query — only a hash of it — and we do not store IP addresses. Records are deleted after 90 days.

Something not working?

Write to us. Please include the tool you called, the market you asked for and roughly when — that is enough for us to find the call in our own records.
